I do not consider myself to be a particularly big person in video games. I don’t recall anything that I’ve ever been good at either when I have given a game a shot.

This week, though, I made the terrible decision to purchase a video game just out of boredom. Had a bit of time to spare and decided to give it a shot. It was a video game my boyfriend suggested, saying it could be a good introduction to video games. I don’t care for violence and I really don’t like video games that require a lot of reading. I like games with no winners and that is simple.

So I’ve started playing Stardew Valley and so far I am hooked. I don’t find myself struggling too much and it has been interesting thus far. Do I think this will be a long-term game that I’ll play? Absolutely not, my reputation of having the attention span of a squirrel will most likely precede me. No high hopes, but will enjoy it for now.

Besides that, I’ve been playing scrabble every day this week as well. My boyfriend’s dad hosts a website that allows people to play scrabble online and although I don’t consider that a video game, it has been consuming a lot of my evenings. Definitely recommend people to try a new game this weekend. Order something nice to eat, play a comfort movie or playlist, and have a good evening. Player nicknames are encouraged. With these gas prices recently, that is the most appealing thing we could be doing. Hope everyone has a good weekend, gotta beat someone at scrabble. Looking at you, username ‘butthead’.
